Since you asked Jay...

I didn't know you were here, Jay.  Welcome back, my friend!

You missed out on some interesting discussions regarding Judaism, Heaven & stuff.  Craig really could have used your help.  But hey, let's leave that as water over the dam now and get back to your questions for me.  I have decided that if "yes" or "no" answers will keep you invloved in the coversation, then by golly I should give them to you.

Here they are:

(I understand that even my "Yes" or "No" answers may lead you to additional questions for me.  If that's the case, please don't hesitate, ask me whatever you want)

These questions are mostly YES or NO questions.  Feel free to discuss your reasons or quote from the bible AFTER answering, but please answer YES or NO.  As of this point, my belief is that what you have represented as your Fundamentalist Christian religion, is a small-minded, hateful attitude.  Please answer the questions below - hopefully you can prove that I am wrong.

  • Do you consider all Jews to be heathens and infidels (note - for the purpose of this discussion, "Jews for Jesus" are NOT considered Jews)?

No.

  • There are over 1 billion people in China.  They represent approximately 20% of the world population. Most are good people and lead simple, peasant lives.  Most will never hear of Jesus or even of Christianity in their lives.  Yes or no - will they all rot in hell when they die?  Yes or no, are they heathens?  Yes or no, are they infidels?

Jay, it is my belief that God gives all people a chance to accept the salvation He has offered us through Jesus Christ.  I can’t say when or how this salvation will be offered to those in China.  I can say that if they reject it, they will not enter Heaven to be eternally with God when they die.

So, in your terms, yes some "will rot in hell".

  • Let's go back to the old testament - before the time of Jesus.  This one is NOT a yes or no question.  How did one get to heaven BEFORE Jesus was born?

God’s communication to mankind before Jesus was born was through His chosen people, the Jews.  God promised His people that Messiah would come and lead them into His Kingdom.  Those who had complete faith in God would recognize the Messiah.  The Messiah would get them into Heaven.  Jesus is, was, and will always be their Messiah.

  •  Back to yes or no.  Do you believe that G-d gave Moses the laws that mankind should live by while Moses was on Mount Sinai?

Yes.

  • If your answer to the above question about Moses was yes, then I would like to know - Did G-d change the laws after Jesus died (yes or no)?

No.

You won round 1 Matthew.  Congratulations.  Now the rules are changed.  Nobody takes your bait anymore.  In Rockaway Township, for the near future, religious discussions are best done in private, and unfortunately, not in a public forum where paid PR staff can take words out of context and turn them into front page stories.

Have a nice day.

Jay,

Are you sure you don't want to make me squirm just a little more?

No Matthew.  I have seen the light...The light is on the auto driven by the Christ Church PR firm and it is heading straight at Rockaway.  I have no desire to be the cause of it running over me or one of my neighbors.

I may have lots of questions I would like to ask you, but I will refrain from asking.  I've seen your tactics at work and I will not play your games.

Hey...Jay! Hows it going????

I am happy you decided to shrug this guy off.

I am sure his questions in the proper forum would be good conversation, and seen as genuine curiostiy.

Here, on this forum they are viewed as retoric, filibustering, divisional and hate mongering.

Because, let's face it...this board was developed to discuss the proposal of a major redevelopment to a plot of land, and the ramifications thereof----

not theological debate.

FWIW --

THIS message thread is an example of the style of online chat, discussion and conversation that I find much more palatable and fine to read.

People diplomatically saying "thanks, but no thanks" to continuing a conversation online etc etc. No insults, accusations, name-calling etc etc etc.

Very nice indeed - thanks !!!

Bystander,

You started crying and took your ball and went home the other day.  You should stay close to your mommy so the big bad boys don't pick on you.  Didn't your mommy teach you not to play with the grownups?

Waaaaah!!!

Good call Craig - I would hope she now realizes she is not the only one who can "see the forest through those trees".

My goodness, what the heck did you take exception to this time??

As I said in the other message thread, it's all in the delivery and presentation.

s'alright ... my question was more directed to craig, anyways. Unfortunately, his online bullying and messaging insults and whatnot grate on my nerves. s'ok though, I'll deal.

Now .. off topic .. who's gonna get the boot tonight on AI and who do you want to win? Figured you might have some inside scoop or something, given your choice of nickname.

Just joking,

Craig,

Was it Bystander that did that?  Hmmm, that's funny, I could have sworn it was somebody else.  I must be mistaken.
