Hi,

Has anyone here seen their new Rockaway Township Property Tax bill yet? Ours has jumped up ~ 17 percent over last year.

This house and land has increased in valuation by a 160,000 bucks (a 42 percent increase) and the rate has changed too. I thought that property values had dropped across the United States over the last 3 years by around 40 percent. I guess that did not happen in Rockaway Township; I guess that it is a very special place.

Also, I thought that there was a state law limiting property tax increases to 3 percent per anum. I guess that only applies to other townships, but not this one.

Anyone else seeing these things?
