Guilty by association Ted? Isn't that part of what the guy you are slamming is guilty of? Seems a tad hypocritical to me.
Although I support VORT's position at this point, I think The Daily Record got this one pretty much correct, even if some details may have been wrong. I think Mr. Maier's stated positons are bigoted .Frankly I find him an embarressment to the town and the cause of keeping the Agilent site a managable size for the town.
His rantings of "I don't want these people in my face" and the like, are arguments based on bigotry, a self serving agenda and a sense of paranoia in my view, and have no place at all in the debate over the Agilent property.
Evangelical Fundamentalist Christianity is totally exclusionary to everyone elses ability to commune with G-d. They claim the only way to have a relationship with G-d is through Jesus Christ. They claim that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. I find that position to be totally biggotted, especially as a member of the Jewish community since we do not accept that premise. I guess us Jews are just chopped liver. And I do not want 25,000 people congregating down at the end of my block who hold that viewpoint. It is extremely offensive to me.
So, pray tell me - - - who exactly is the bigot in this discussion? Me or the Fundies?
Websters Definition of Bigot:
"One obstinately and blindly devoted to his own church, party, etc." That definition seems to fit cc a lot more than it does I. I (and others of my ilk) am the offended party in this situation folks.
At best, you are both perhaps bigots, and fighting bigotry with bigotry is a foolish and unproductive waste of time.
Most all religions in some form or another preach thier views as the best or even only way. Some louder or with more zeal that others. Big deal. Be comfortable with who and what you are, and stuff like that should not bother you.
In any case, it is 100% certain, that your views on this have 0% bearing on the application. Period.
Most religions ain't us. We (Jews) do not hold that we have some extra special connection with G-d that excludes others from having a relationship. Sorry, but that is the way that it is. I have concluded that Fundamentalist Christianity is Fundamentally antisemetic at the minimum and also exclusionary to a good part the 5.5 billion non-Fundamentalist Chrsitians on this planet.

etc.
I only started on this religion thing because of the advocation of Mathew (a strong cc supporter) and his crew about who gets into heaven. That started it all, just so that you understand the history of it all.
