How it started

To VORT founders:

Please review the recent postings closely, they answer ALL YOUR QUESTIONS about why your supporters have the reputation they do regarding the racial undercurrent of your movement.  Whether you agree with these people or not, they are on your side.  It is not "on both sides," it started right here in RT.

Race?! Who said race?

I believe my issue, at least, was geographical in nature: urban vs. rural.

Sorry Charlie.

ireland brought race card into this whole thing...not us!!! basically - it's been said that we don't want cc here...so we must be racist...

and that's just not the case...

furthermore...as for the "both sides" issue...you must not read everything...b/c if you did...you would see that cc supporters have basically called us stupid hicks...with a crappy town...

so...any "name calling" is on both sides...but RT certainly did not bring race into it...that's just ireland's crutch...

Nice try at revisionist history - but the accurate history is that the church received racist remarks directly and in not-so-well hidden remarks.  They pointed it out, and now you like to pretend that is where it started.

You find it surprising that someone would think you ignorant considering the posts?  You shouldn't.

Super, that's great; but he didn't hear racism in my remarks.

Generalization of urban areas and the people who live there, sure.

But I don't want a flock of whites from Newark coming here either. I don't care what race; it's the culture. Sorry.

While I think the mention of the events at FDU have NOTHING to do with ANYTHING we are discussing here - whoever began this posting is SO focused on RACE that they are BLIND!

The conversations about URBAN vs. RURAL are matters that those who live in RURAL and URBAN areas discuss.  There are people of all races, religions and sexual preferences in both URBAN and RURAL areas... there are good people and those who do not follow the law aka "bad" people.

Your attempts to drag the founders of VORT into this venue clearly NOT related to the facts surrounding the application under review.

NEWSFLASH - Rockaway is FAR more rural than urban .... and the plans to bring CC to Rockaway are WAY TOO BIG for a RURAL area to handle (please see Irelands own words befor you claim Rockaway is not Rural).

I think VORT Rocks!

Interesting, I think you should re-read what type of conversation you allowed yourself to get in under "Let's not stereotype."

so you're saying that their name calling is justified???

we should just shut up and let a ireland's kingdom take over our town??? b/c otherwise we'll be known as a bunch of racists??? (b/c that's what ireland wants everyone to believe - he's so scared of us hicks that he has to be escorted to his car after meetings...oh please...the drama!!!)...no...we have solid reasons for being against this project...most importantly our way of living!!!

what is ignorant about researching and stating facts anyway???

Sure, a geographical, urban culture-related one.

Ever been to Woodcliff Lake?

Ha Ha Ha. More poor English. Typical.

Actually, where's the racism?

A group of scumbags from the areas surrounding Christ Church shot and assaulted students at a college in Morris County, where none of the scumbags attended school.

That sounds a lot like facts, not racism.

Go play your race card somewhere else.

Maybe you too, are a scumbag.

Probably more articulate sentence structure would be:

"Considering the posts, you shouldn't find it surprising that someone would consider you ignorant."

But I have seen worse.
