what is this ridiculous obsession with lisa and greystone???
i was always taught that if you think something is not right or appropriate you should not just sit and bitch about the situation...you should be proactive and suggest alternate routes...
again...these are suggestions...other locations that MIGHT actually work as an alternate...repeat...MIGHT...but if one suggestion doesn't work you move on to the next...and continue this process until the right fit is found...
so ok...maybe greystone is not the right site for CC...so scratch it of the list of alternate sites...and move on to the next...
but no matter what...RT is NOT the right place for CC...for all the reasons we have discussed...
Lisa said CC should go to Greystone. She thought it was a good place for them. It has been pointed out that no matter how you slice and dice the facts, Agilent is clearly better suited for CC than Greystone is. No one has disputed that fact here.
So if Lisa thinks Greystone is a good location for CC, then Agilent is a Great location for CC.
No one here can explain why CC would fit better at Greystone than at Agilent, yet some here (OK, at least one: Lisa) suggested that CC should go to Greystone.
In fact, Greystone would be a good location for CC. And Agilent will be a great location for them.
it was merely a suggestion...take it how you may...but a discussion was started to look at possible alternative locations for this campus...
but anyway...like i said...perhaps greystone is not a good location for cc...RT is not the right building site for the cc campus, either...
and just b/c one person out there might think greystone is a good - the best - location - and offers it up as suggestion - does not mean that is necessarily true...but in turn...it does not mean that if one person thinks that greystone (with location and roadways) would work for cc that that means agilent would be an even better sight - fine - yes, we do have roadway access to RT - but OUR roads - the roads that me and my neighbors drive on to food shop...go to church...etc - can not handle the type of traffic that cc will bring every day of the week...
move on...find another possible location...
quite honestly...it seems as though VORT and others in RT are being more proactive in helping cc solve this problem that cc is...they are trying to make RT look like nasty people trying to keep them out...when all we are trying to (and will) do is protect the town we call home from roadway congestion, higher taxes (that will not go towards bettering our town) and environmental issues...
Set up six flags over Ireland in Morris, Essex, Sussex counties, or Oshkos, I don't care.
Just as long as it doesn't land in a spot that has a bad fit...like on Greenpond Road.
It's a nice gesture that some people on this board, and some folks in town are lending a hand offering ideas for other spaces.
Keep in mind...Rev has stated he's been searching for 7(?) years to find a spot, and he is dumping considerable money in to Wendy Bergers law firm, a PR firm , experts, etc.
I don't think he's going to put much effort into looking around. I think it feeds his ego, and the publicity makes him a bigger name within his peer group.
By the way....is he not the one that said...if Rockaway Township doesn't want us, we won't come? I cannot remember where I read or heard it...anyone else remember?
If he has not felt that this thing is not wanted by now, I doubt if a petition from the residents fighting him will move him deeply.

nobody said that greystone was the solution...it was a possible suggestion...(do you read?)...if it doesn't work out...fine...find someplace that will...b/c that will knock greystone and agilent out of the running...
besides...it isn't our job to find cc an alternative place to build their kingdom...we were just being nice...trying to offer some POSSIBLE suggestions...sorry it didn't work out!!!
It is an option, one that was not on the table a few months ago, one that Christ Church may not have been aware of. I know that the property currently gains no taxes, thereby it would not be a financial hardship on the residents of the town. I know that the buildings are currently set up in a "campus" environment. I know that the property is not far from Rt. 10 and very easy to get to from Morristown.
It is an OPTION. I hope they build what they are dreaming in a place that is appropriate for such a structure. Maybe it is not Greystone, maybe it is not 140 Green Pond Rd., maybe it is not in NJ? Where ever it is I hope they find something and are all very happy with it.

what are you talking about??? we've all disputed that agilent is not the proper location for cc...and as for it being better suited for cc than greystone...this is my response...they are both wrong for cc...agilent for different reasons...but equal (if not stronger) to the argument being made that greystone would not work...
Greystone is on 150 acres and surrounded by over six hundred empty acres? Are there any houses within a quarter mile from the buildings? _________________________________________________

These CC people know what's out there. They've been supposedly looking for seven years (although seven years ago they were looking for a facility to fit how many people?).
