The majority of my neighbors are good people who care about the town. We have a few amoung us who would rather sell us out and bitch and complain to bring attention to themselves. This negative personallity is destructive.
Ted, you are one of these negative people. You have missed the point nearly every time. I have no idea what your real problem is but it is clear it needs attention. "Lisas Mom" posted a while back about taking a negative and turning it into a possitive, yet you took that statement and turned it around against her. My point is you are missing the point time after time. You may want to take 30 minutes after you read a posting to respond to it, your impulse reaction is often off target.
From the on lookers view point Ted, it is YOU who seek personal attention from this and many other issues in town. If you seek attention wouldnt it be nice if it were positive attention?
On other topics, I liked that last post about the letter to CC, when will it be posted to the website?
Wow, did Ted's response sound like Todddavid or what.
Ted, It is about negative environmental impact and strain on our roads and emergency services, with no beneift to the town. But I guess in your mind, VORT is out to screw Agilent out of a "simple land deal" for their own hidden agenda.
Ted, the four founders of VORT have done more good for this town in 6 months, than you have done your entire life.
Ted, how could you always be right and everyone else always be wrong?
Ted, did you ever stop and wonder why no one ever agrees with you?
Ted, Do you realize that when you go up to microphone at town meetings to speak. Everyone rolls their eyes?
Ted, Do you realize no one takes your opinions seriously, because you have painted this image of yourself as a big joke.
Ted, I always try to find the good in people, but you make it difficult. Please think about your actions and how you are percieved. You may want to seek proffesional help.
I have been following this matter for several months. I tend to believe that when people get involved in things it MUST be for personal GAIN. I have looked at every angle and agree that VORT has the hopes to GAIN, but NOT personal GAIN, only a GAIN for the town, the community and all of us!
This is NOT a "simple land deal", anyone thinking so is mistaken at best and mislead at worse. Our land, water, air, roadways and fire/first aid are at risk. Can anyone believe this is about anything less then protecting our environment? What about other options for them/CC? I know the Graystone space has come up and I also know the BASF space is available in Mt. Olive - both of which are locations that lend themselves better to such uses.
I thought the letter in the Neighbor News was excellent and clearly lays out the size of this project. I have seen this written on the board before but it is true - simply put the project is too big.

The Land is already developed, all other alternatives will have a greater negative impact and by preventing greater negatives, the church benefits the township

No, it's just that vORT is foolish enough to think that Agilent will continue to pay taxes and leave the propery vacant.

What have they done except get everyone excited about an issue without providing an alternative.

You seem to be saying that I should join the majority just so everyone (at least some) will like me.
This isn't a popularity contest, it's about right and wrong

Any new project that is contemplated for that site will go before the scrutiny of the planning board. How can you say 'the land is already developed' when you know that Christ Church will double the square footage of building space and more than double the parking area. That's a LOT of new development.
Why is it that demand that VORT offer alternatives to the Church buying the property. It's not up to them to come up with an alternative - that's Agilent's worry - and yes, Agilent WILL continue paying taxes until the land is sold, so they will have a vested interest in finding a purchaser that is suitable to the township once the church is defeated.
..and getting back to the alternatives - why is it that you state that you want VORT to find an alternative that is acceptable, but yet when they joined the school search committe (an alternative solution), you screamed "conflict of interest" - I thought you WANT them to explore possible alternatives.
I guess in reality, you just want to complain about whatever VORT does.
common tED - you know they want to double the size of the current structures, as well as add 1900 more parking spaces. That IS a sustaintial change to this sensitive piece of property. Wake up dOOTY, the world knows more now in the year 2004 than it ever did about environmentaly correct development. The past is the past as far as what is already developed - we can only address the hear and now, as well as the future.
You are accomplished at rabble rousing - too bad that appears to be your major talent in this life.
