Our wannabe "good" neighbor

has served some of RT. Ireland you sure know how to win over a town.

I hope this all backfires for him. I really don't see how we violated any rights when no determination has been made and the ordinance change was made because of outdated laws that even cc's experts brought to the boards attention.

Ireland will never be the kind of neighbor we want in town. From the beginning he has lied to us, he now has sued us. Thanks rev for showing us what you're all about.

RE: Our wannabe "good" neighbor

What option did the town leave?  What would you do if you met similar resistence when you attempted to make a home in RT?

When I bought my house in RT it was not be for 5200 members plus visitors. It was not going to be tax exempt, nor was it going to be creating massive traffic jams or changing the infrastructure or so close to protected lands.

Any fool can see that something that hugh cannot fit on 140 GPR. And any fool would not have even tried. That's why I didn't have any resistence from the PB when I decided to make a home in RT.

And by the way, ireland isn't planning on making a home here. He's planning on making a money making company.

You didn't answer the question, Thinker.  What if you were treated similar to Christ Church?  Wouldnt you exercise your rights?

Don't flip the argument.  Rights are rights

They are like anyone else that's applying to build in a town. Almost. If it was something other than a church, they wouldn't have even gotten this far.  Therefore, they have more rights than most and they were treated more than fairly. So what are they suing for and what are you complaining about?

How about the way they've treated RT? Lied and schemed.

The question is, and was:  If you felt your rights were being violated, would you sue?

You objected to the fact that they are taking legal action. What would you do?

The courts will decide who acted inappropriately, You can't just assume that they lied or the Town did.  The only assumption you can make is that both sides feel strongly about their position.  Given that, would you take legal action or juist give up ?

"felt your rights were being violated, would you sue?"

How can I feel my rights were being violated, when nothing has been decided? What rights am I suppose to have when everyone who wants to build has to go before the pb? I was out of compliance with them. I fixed the problems, but now I'm suing before a decision been made. Doesn't make sense and I can't answer your question because there is no question. How were my rights violated?

Thinker,

It appears that those in opposition to the CC plan feel that only an up or down decision by the Planning Board impacts rights.  That seems a little narrow, doesn't it?

For example, if the court determines that RT purposely slowed the process, wouldn't that be a violation of rights?

Let's not talk about slowing the process. cc has done plenty to do that. RT is being overly tedious about this because of the "rights" a church has. Duh.

I think residents have rights too. They have the right to the quality of life that they have been use to, the quality of life for which they made RT their home. They have the right to be able to get back and forth to their homes without sitting in traffic caused by an entity that is entirely too big for where it wants to go. The lights they have planned will cause accidents seeing they are around a blind turn in the road. And you talk about our tax dollars in the lawsuit. What about our tax dollars that will be used to support an entity that less than 2% of the town will use? The fields that you claim were offered are on a limited basis and unavailable for actual scheduling of games.  Our environment, our roads, our tax dollars, emergency services, our infrastructure, etc, will all be taken by cc. What will they give to RT? Nothing but trouble as they have shown in their bogus lawsuit. Yes, let's talk about rights. Resident's rights!

Like I’ve already told you, both sides have their viewpoints and the court will decide whose rights have been violated.  I’m guessing the validity of the traffic report and the church’s concessions will be discussed as well.

The question still is, “If in your view your rights where being violated, would you take legal action?

AGAIN I ASK YOU WHAT RIGHTS ARE BEING VIOLATED!

Thinker, your view doesn't matter. The Church believes its rights have been violated.  The court will decide the rest.

Why do you keep avoiding the question?  I'm not asking you to admit wrong doig on the part of RT.  I'm merely suggesting that most people would sue if they felt their rights were violated and ther was no other alternative.

Thinker,

I think you make some interesting and valid points and that for many months now you have done the same.

Thanks for you input it is valued by many.

And thank you Lisa for all the work you and the rest of VORT has been doing.

This project will cause havoc in RT, anyone but cc, can see that. I know you also have GPR as the only means to get back and forth to your house. With the lights they intend to put on GPR, (I was at the meeting and only heard of 2 lights, however, the Neighbor News said 3), with cutting down mature trees, and everything else they will do to the land and the roads, it's is imperative that we fight and win.  I'm very afraid of what will happen if we don't. As many towns in Morris County are fighting overdevelopment maybe our voice will be heard. Residents have rights!

P.S. It would be nice if my IP wasn't banned on my home computer. There have been times when I could have really refuted a certain person, but I couldn't get my post on the board.

Thinker, just to reiterate, according to what I can find, your IP isn't among the banned ones--I can't imagine why you can't post...

I know Karen, it's just really frustrating. So I'll just hope that I don't get frustrated at night or on weekends!
