Certainly, that's one way to view it but look at it from the church's perspective.
There's been hostility toward the church from day one, every concession the church has made has been mocked, CC wasn't taken seriously when the suit was threatened and less so when it was filed. Instead of fighting the new ordinance the church complied but was met with even more hostility.
Well I would debate that & say there are 3 sides... the third side being the "truth"
I know you think I am anti CC but that is not the case at all ... in fact I know several cc attenders .. there is a concern with the way their "counsel" has approached all this... knowing it will "antagonize" the very community they desire to "impact" ... don't assume that most of cc's members & leadership want to sue their way into RT ... rev irelands opinion may count more than everyone else's but it may not be "the church's perspective"
I'll resist poking fun at your remark about knowing people that attend CC but it sure sounds like you believe the church is out to "antagonize". You'll need to explain that a little more
I do know some ... you can chose to believe that or not.... I think my posts show me to be no stranger to the evangelical community & its mindset & beliefs
I am not saying they are deliberately trying to "antagonize" anyone, but rather that will be a by-product (and already has been) of the proceedings... nobody really wins when a church "sues" its way into a community (except the lawyers)
If a company were moving in, they would sue...move in... life goes on...end of story.
For an "evangelical church" trying to move in, it is very different. CC (as they should) wants to "reach out to the community" and at this point they are not being seen in a favorable light by most of the people I have spoken to in the area ... and for some, if not many at cc this is a concern (as it should be)
Thank you for requesting a clarification... much more constructive than assuming the worst
Thanks for the clarification. I disagree with your analysis however.
It seems to me that the community wanted play fields but when the church offered, it wasn't good enough. When the community claimed environmental concern the church offered to clean the stom water and plant more trees than it would remove, and that wasn't good enough either.
In addition, I agree that the church is not viewed favorably by some but I'm approached by many people in the community who only parrot what organized opposition claims the "church" has said... I've attended all but two hearings and have never heard those words
Based upon the postings that I have read upon my return it appears that this poster is in fact the noted gadfly, Mr. T. Doty. Mr. Doty is a man who must find cloak and dager plots around every bend and even when confronted with truths, he believes them to be cleverly crafted plots that hid the truth that somehow only he knows.
The lies posted by Mr. Doty are clearly intended to bait people into his twisted version of, lets call them "dotyisms" defined as clear lies intended to incite. We all know the truth about the extemely limited, if at all, availablity of the 'ballfields' and Mr. Doty must completely not understand environmental issues if he thinks taking down old growth trees and "replacing them" with "new trees" is a positive move for the environment and endangered Indian Bats. Please check with the Sierra Club to better understand these important matters.
We all know that Mr.Doty is only happy when he is fighting - I personally pitty him but do not think it is possible for him to change his ways and that is very sad.

The Christ Church Plan for the redevelopment of 140 Green Pond Rd is just too big for the area.
So Lisa, can you specificaly identify a lie that's been told?...Or even a cloak and dagger plot?
Better yet, point out a phrase that incites. It's just an opinion of course but you're just trying to make Ted Doty a lighting rod and cause anti-progect hysteria once again.
Lisa, this is serious stuff and the tax dollars at risk belong to all of us. Stick to the facts so that we can have productive discussions
