Well, I am glad I was online when you attempted to bash me.
How dare you make such a stupid and childish statement. Can you please explain how you define "evil" and "disturbed". I have taken the effort to assist my community in terms of getting involved in a planning board process on a project that will destroy our environment, over burden our fire and first aid services, add traffic to a small and dangerous road, add to the statewide problem of urban sprawl and take away our tax dollars.
In the mean time I spend every waking hour helping people with serious medical problems, raising a family, working in a job that helps to employee 75 people in the area and participating in community events as time allows.
Have I ever said anything about the good people of Christ Church being evil...NEVER and I never would. Have I ever said Mr. Ireland is evil, NEVER, and I never would. We simply have a difference of opinions as what is in the best interest of Rockaway Twp. As this has been my home for nearly my entire life I think I understand the needs of this community better than those at Christ Church do, as they do not live or worship here.
The only one who has EVER used an word "EVIL" is Mr. R. Jones, and for the fact he offered a "prayer" and calling the good people of Rockaway "enemies of G-d"... Now THAT is disturbed and EVIL.
Peace to you may your anger fade with your understanding of the TRUTH, people can agree to disagree without childish name calling.
One further thought. You seem to be fast to enter into name calling, yet fail to identify yourself. You must feel very confident in your opinion as you lack the courage to simply sign your name.
What do some on this board call it? Trolling? This is a useless, unconstructive topic. Whether vort is "right" or "wrong" is up for debate but there is little evidence of Lisa (at least from her posts here) being "Evil."
(Can't say I am surprised someone lost control a bit though, the hateful posts against CC have increased on both nj.com and here. Doesn't make the one that starts this string right though, and it is certainly not a representative post from the CC side.)
I will agree that the posts over the past few days have gone a bit far. My postings are signed with MY name. People on BOTH sides have gotten carried away. I would have to agree with the opinion of some that the "movie" was a PR action and I am sorry to see that. It did not harm anyone, just the feeling in Rockaway that CC is being 'straight' with us.
If I have an opinion, I post it with my name clearly attached, if the post does not contain my name -it is NOT my doing. If you wish to be angry with some posts, deal with them, not me.
On the flip side, some of the posts from "CC supporters" have been less than "Christian". They should THINK before they type. 2 wrongs do not make a right.
Agree to disagree and let the facts be handled in the proper place and time and show up and be part of the process. If anyone thinks that residents should NOT be part of the process of the growth or changes in the town you live in, well, this entire country is in a great deal of trouble. GET INVOLVED.
Name calling has no role in this process it is childish and VERY poor judgement on the part of an adult, especially one who claims to be a good Christian.
The first time I attended a vORT meeting you were less than kind regarding CC. You claimed that Ireland is lying about his plans and using the cover of a church to avoid paying taxes.
I wouldn’t say that you’re evil but you’re no quite the innocent “do gooder” that you’d have us believe. You speak for a powerful voter group in the north end of town and a deal has been struck (whether you know it or not) to enlist support from the second ward (Fleetwood).
I’m not too sure that you’d have the slightest idea of what’s best for Rockaway Township.
"You speak for a powerful voter group in the north end of town and a deal has been struck (whether you know it or not) to enlist support from the second ward (Fleetwood)."
It would be more constructive, and add credbility to your statement if you were to give all the details you are aware of, instead of cryptically hinting of conspiracy.
I do not wish to start a debate or pi**ing contest. I am curious, about what you have to say about this, as I am sure the rest of us that read this board are.
Mark, believe what you want, I don’t really care. The BOE will accept the deal from the Open Space Committee for the Fleetwood property and attempt an eminent domain acquisition of Agilent.
I predicted that the township would help the BOE sell its interest in Fleetwood when they voted to accept bids at a July 2003 meeting; after a closed door meeting with the Mayor and Paul Minenna. I made the prediction at the open portion of the BOE meeting.
My point is that Lisa et al is not looking out for the town’s best interest or an innocent “do gooder”
tED - the first time I heard you speaking, you were accusing members of the planning board with impropriaties that were unfounded - they backed you the f*ck up bro (the first meeting on this CC proposal). What's up now...
Those who live in a glass house should not cast stones...
you speaking the first night of this fiasco too Ted - the PB had to ask you to end your statements after things got out of hand with a few accusations and apologies...does this refresh your memory???
You were not at the BUL in September that was our first meeting. If you are talking about the members of VORT recalling our meeting with Ireland and how often his statements were not consistantwith the plans he submitted to the planning board and that we found there to be a wide gap in honesty so be it. We told no lies nor made any comments about the man or his religion, simply we gave observations. Others in the room may have had some strong opinions, but if you recall, we remained focused on the application submitted and the research we had done about it.
I do not claim to be a "do gooder', but I and we do claim to be interested in the long term good of Rockaway Twp. I care more about doing what is ethically right for our town, the land, the water and our tax dollars then you do, of this I am sure.
Tell me you think it is a good idea to develop environmentally sensitive land and to compromise wetlands, and to threaten the water supply of the town and the 3 million people in Jersey City who depend on our clean environment for their drinking water?
Tell me Ted, what have you done for the town lately?
One correction to the posts above, Ted was asked to stop talking at the Town Council meeting, not planning board meeting.
For cying out Ted, your a perfect example of a leopard not changing it's spots.
I asked you a simple question, and specifically said that I was not trying to start something.
All I wanted was for you to expand on your statement.
I did not deny or accuse you of anything, and I did not allude to believe or dispute your claim.
Where in my post did you get the idea I beleieved in anything...causing you to write:
"Mark, believe what you want, I don’t really care."
Man...if you have any doubt why people personally attact you...you can look back at this at this as a snapshot example.
You made a cryptic claim.
I had simple, straight forward request for exapnasion or clarification of your claim, because I had no idea what you where alluding to.
You responded with more cryptic statements, after putting in a disclaimer about not caring what I believe...yet I made no reference to beleiving anything.
Well...at least I tried to have a decent conversation with you.
One of the more involved citizens of RT, I see. lol. It wasn't the PB, idiot. It was the Town Council.
And the scene was planned. The list of speakers is given to the Council Pres at the start of the meeting Then when the Press leaves to file its report the meeting is opened to the public (that way nothing embarrassing is printed). Been done that way for years.
I attacked no one but I did use the term "eminent domain"; not a term governing bodies want to be associated with. That started a chain of interruptions. If you ever go back to a meeting you'll see NOBODY gets interupted except people that say embarassng things.
Anyway my point is that Lisa doesn't act in RTs best interest and she isn't an innocent "do gooder"
If you are saying your actions in September/October at the Council meeting were "Planned" I am really shocked. You made personal attaches for no reason to memebers of the council and really lost your temper. Had your actions been in the heat of the moment I could see you got a little away from yourself, these things can happen. However if you PLANNED that, seriously get some help.
There is a tape of the meeting, you should get a copy and play it back, it may do you some good.
Anyone else wanna throw some money into the kitty to help TD move to Montclair? I started it out with $10,000.00. Every little bit helps. Let's make it irrestible for him. It would be the best investment RT has made in years.
Great, and thanks S. Hawkins (the physicist?). At this rate, we will raise $800 K for him by the end of the month! That should buy him a nice place in a town that is more suitable to his likeing. It will also do a lot to beautify RT!
If I were she, I would not want an idiot like you to think anything other than that. Duh. We are a very kind town, as you shall see. We pity the dumb as we are willing to raise lotsa money for improvements in your environment (and of course, our too).
