Question about holidays

At the last planning board meeting, it was stated that Christ Church does not need to plan parking for peak days (holidays or events) but only for average days.

Obviously, companies do not have 'peak' days at office buildings, so this would never have been an issue for Agilent.

What happens on Christmas Eve (I believe that this church closes on Christmas Day - is that not correct???) when 2500 cars show up at once?  Where do they go?  Will the park on the grass next to those sensitive streams (probably not in December)?  Do they park along Green Pond and Meridan Roads?  How many days out of the year are there where they will excede their parking?  Christmas eve, Easter, any other holidays?  Special events / concerts?

It's a question that hasn't come up yet, but I think needs to be asked.

If anybody KNOWS the answer, I would appreciate a post!

Perhaps Todddavid would be kind enough to meet somewhere in the middleground and offer an answer.
Anyway, Rick...maybe you should relax a little.
Besides...school won't be in session at that time so those six or seven cars won't add to the problem.

You know - this would not be an issue for a small church.  If a 100 car parking lot 'overflowed', we'd have an extra 20, 50, or even 100 cars to find parking places for.

When an 1800 car parking lot overflows, we might find ourselves with over 1000 - 2000 extra cars to find parking for.

For those who care to do the math, 1000 cars @ 20 feet per car is about 4 miles worth of parked cars.  Of course, they won't be able to park along MOST of the road - they'd be blocking driveways.   Where do they go, and what do we do if it is MORE cars???

Just think about all that cash we can make with our hot dog carts and ice cream wagons selling stuff to the "outatowners". We can make up for the lost tax revenue!!!!!
(todddavid told me to write this)
