Apparently Mr. Maier hasn’t been totally upfront with us. I recently found out that he is a former employee of Agilent. Further, Agilent, not Maier severed the relationship.
I also discovered that after one of the PB meetings a current Agilent employee felt threatened by Maier and requested a police escort back to his car
I worked for Hewlett Packerd / Agilent for 18 years starting in the year of August of 1979. I quit working there to take another position at Artisan Electronics as R&D manager in 1997. Anyone who wants to verify this can call Hewlett Packard / Agilents Human Resource department and confirm the fact that I quit the company. If you want to confirm my position and the timing thereof, call Artisan Electronics in Parsippany, NJ. Futhermore, someone who is representing Agilent during these hearings got "in my face" after the second meeting because of my forthright comments during the meeting and threatened me personally, an event which was observed by a cop that night. The cop (and I have his name) can attest that this gentleman threatened me and not the other way around. Nobody escorted anyone to any cars that night.
Now to the fun stuff -
What you have just seen here is a clear case of slander. I do not tolerate slander and I have enough financial assets to do unto you a great damage if you persist on attempting to do damage unto me. If I observe any more unsubstantiated claims here on this board about myself again, I will hire a forensics computer scientist to discover who you are. You can not hide from me. Thereafter, I will launch a lawsuit for slander that will knock your ****ing socks off. Just as fair warning, I hope that your assets have all been liquidated or hidden in Swiss accounts if you persist, because I will ultimately own whatever you now own if you decide to mess with me. This is my promise to you.
I do not know who this is nor why he or she is saying these things about me. I am a very vociferous non-supporter of the CC project, as everyone knows. Reasonable conjecture leads me to believe that this fact may be related to the reason for the slander - - - e.g. - - - try to ruin my credibility. So, this is a very dangerous allegation without merit at my personal expense. The facts just do not bear out the charge and that can be proven by anyone willing to make a few phone calls to my former employers. It is therefore libelous and will not be tolerated. I would love for this indivudual to try something like this again. That is when the fun will really begin for me. As you know, the internet is not really anonymous. There is always an electronic trail. I will have no problem whatsoever in tracking this person down and filing the appropriate legal action. It may cost me $20,000.00 in forensics and legal costs, but it will be well worth the money spent considering the return on that investment that we shall ultimately receive.
For anyone interested in confirming whether or not this is a libelous thread, here are the telephone numbers to call to verfiy my relationship(s) with my former employers. Please ask for the Human Resource Department of the appropriate corporation and ask under what terms I left each. You will discover that I quit to go to a better job elsewhere in the case of HP/Agilent. You will need to call between Mondays and Friday.
Hewlett Packard: 650-857-1501 (call between 8:00 AM til 5:00 PM Pacific Time)
Agilent Technologies (an Hewlett Packard Spinoff - - - when I worked there it was Hewlett Packard, but Agilent would have my employment records as well as HP): 650-752-5000 (call between 8:00 AM til 5:00 PM Pacific Time)
Edo Artisan Inc. (Formally Artisan Technologies, Inc): 973-887-7100 (call between 8:00 AM til 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time) (I retired after I quit Artisan since we had accumulated enough money to last a lifetime by that point)
Don't take my word on this. Please check it out. I am really hoping that someone will do this and post the results of their query.
While I did put this forum up to allow free speech, I did not intend for slanderous statements. Mr. Maier, talk to Rick S. for help, I belive this is his area of expertise. If you need any more help, let me know.
the IP of the poster named "Guess Who" is: 68.196.77.163 on 2004-03-06 11:43:26
If you happen to see this post, could you please call me and maybe help me out with this situation here. I understand that you may be able to help here. I just need a little more information about this guy. You can contact me at :
I hope that you WERE having a very nice day. The pleasantries stop for you as soon as you read this memo. I suggest that you have a drink before continuing to read this post. OK - had your drink. Good. Since you have libeled and slandered me in public, I expect the following to be done:
1. You have this Monday to check out my employment record at the telephone number(s) supplied on this thread. You will discover from that investigation that I left all my jobs of my own accord on good terms in order to seek better oportunities. I was never fired from any job as your slander seems to intimate.
2. By this Tuesday, I expect a public apology for your indescretion and the damage that you have done to my good reputation. Your apology will appear on this venue as a new Thread.
3. If these things are not done, I will be filing a civil lawsuit against yourself for Libel and Slander for defaming my good name.
4. The suit will be filed on Wednesday or Thursday, in Morristown (depending on my lawyers schedule), if these conditions are not met.
Have a very nice day, Ted.
ps. I told you about a week ago not to communicate with me as I do not like to chat with idiots. You have really made my point.
Just to reaffirm what Karen said, I too have seen Craig's previous posts describing his employment with Agilent. He wasnt keeping that a secret. Go get em Craig. If that IP ID is correct then he more than deserves whatever you can give him. All I could tell you is that IP is part of the Cablevision Optimum Online network. I wish I knew who the guy was from Agilent cause I would love to get in his face. I feel they are very much to blame for much of this. Yes they have the right to sell their property, but they also have done nothing to help resolve this and knew all along how such a deal would be received. This after living here for all those years. Shame on them. I have personally emailed them and informed them that although I am only one, I will not patronize them by buying any HP products again and I will encourage everyone else to do likewise.
All I can tell you from the IP address is that it belongs to an optonline subscriber:
ool-44c44da3.dyn.optonline.net [68.196.77.163]
If it matches the address of other posts (with someone else's name)...well...a lot can be inferred from that!
You will have to go direct to Cablevision to find out who is on the other side of that link. Cablevision does keep records of this. The only way they will release the information to you is through a court order.
I am not even close to being an expert in any of this tracking/tracing stuff ... but I use something called "NEOTRACE" when I'm curious of where some of the spam/junk stuff comes from ... There are other software tracking/tracing programs available, too, fyi .... here's a website where you can access NeoTrace, if you want --
Perhaps there are others who use something else that's either just as good or better ... Good luck on tracking down the posters of online messages .... I could never figure out how accurate that might turn out to be given the unknown of WHO actually is posting from any given computer in a given location (house, library, school, company, otherwise) .. but I'm sure there are ways to do anything in this day and age ....
I just looked at your neotrace tool. I like the graphics on it! It looks like it is a combination of tracert (traceroute) with a graphical front end and whois.
Tracert will tell you what routers you go through to reach a destination. It can give you info on where the destination is since many routers include geographic city names in their own names. It could tell you if a poster is posting from let's say Rockaway Township or maybe Montclair (picking two cities at random).
The 'whois' part is great for tracking down who owns a website, since all US websites are registered by ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers - http://www.arin.net).
For instance, if you wanted to know who owned the VORT website, you could look it up and find the following:
Whois does not really help when trying to look up a user's address. You will get the name & address of the netblock owner (Optonline or AT&T Worldnet or AOL), but not of the actual computer using the ip address.
Basically, what it comes down to is if you are trying to find out who is using an IP address you need to:
1. Find out which ISP (internet service provider) owns the address
2. Go to the ISP and find out who was using the address during the time in question (good luck without a court order).
I agree totally with --- Find out which ISP (internet service provider) owns the address .... ... Go to the ISP and find out who was using the address during the time in question (good luck without a court order).
........
I also like the sound of this "Tracert" program you talk about ... am definitely going to look further into this - the more details that can be garnered when trying to track something/someone down, the better for all online users, I say !!
Here is the Truth about my employment at Hewlett Packard - - - I never worked for Agilent.
I was a top rated engineer at the company on the highest engineering pay grade for 18 years. I was designated an "Engineer/Scientist" not an "Engineer" because of my level of performance. There were only two of us on that high pay grade at the facility.
I became very ill and almost died from a ruptured lower intestine because I had diverticulosis which turned into divertiiculitis unbeknown to me at that time. I received emergency surgery and subsequently 3 additional surgeries to put me back together over a 5 month time interval (at St. Clares).
After that protracted illness, I received permission from my surgeon to return to work for a "Normal 40 hour workweek". My boss refused the medical request and told me that the project that I had been working on is 5 months late (there were around 15 engineers on that project, but I was the lead engineer). He told me that I would be expected to work 12 hours per day, 6 days per week until the project was back on track.
I told my boss that doing that would jeopardize my health and would put HP is a precarious legal position should anything happen to me as a result of the work routine. Thereafter, I went to another one of my Doctors (my Gastrointerologist) and received another note with the same 40 hour per week restriction.
After turning in that note, I was called onto the carpet by top management who told me that if I brought in any further Doctors notes with work restrictions, that I would be terminated immediately for insubordination.
I consulted with a labor attorneyr and under his suggestion, I obtained another note (this time from my GP) and turned it into management. Shortly after that, I was fired for insubordination and I filed an action against HP using the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD). The NJLAD requires that "reasonable accomodation" must be provided by employers to persons with disabilities; a 40 hour workweek following a life threatening illness falls within that purview.
3 years later, Hewlett Packard, under the threat of a directed verdict by the judge assigned to the case settled with me for a substantial sum of money. Part of the settlement agreement included the fact that I was re-hired and then I immediately quit thereafter. So, because of the judges threat of a directed verdict, legally I was never actually fired from HP because the firing was an illegal one which was put right in the end by the court action.
Those are the facts and just the facts, not that it really is anybodys business. Does anybody have a problem with that nice little piece of history?
Rat
ps - - - the person doing the threatening at the PB meeting was an HP manager. That incident occurred after the legal settlement agreement with HP had been achieved. That incident was witnessed by an RT police officer and duly noted by said officer at that time.
pss - just exactly who are you, AlleyOop; are you an agent of the circus? Maybe you want to arm-wrestle with me in a court of law over the validity of your slanderous statements made here? That would be fun.

So who is digging in the archives from over 5 yrs ago and why at this point in time? Looks like someone has touched a nerve. Rat, keep it up and best of luck. C.
