Here is a Daily Record Experiment for all to witness:
I welcome the DR to this (Meriden Road) homestead to see the following:
1. Documentation of the transfer of around 1,200 one-of-a-kind test pressing Lateral recordings that were never released to the public from the years 1927 through 1929 from the Edison Company (Edison was the inventor of the phonograph). Each of these songs exists in 3 to 5 takes, and we have kept digital copies of all of the originals that were subsequently sent back to the Edison Underground Archives in West Orange, NJ. This project was done over a 7 year period here in RT. We are willing to play for you, - - - any cut that you want to hear. We do not do that for anyone, but will do it for the DR if they inquire.
2. They can see the entire logging records of these recordings that were delivered here to Meriden Rd. by the staff of the U.S Department of the Interior of this "priceless" collection. This documentation describes the condition of each one-of-a-kind test pressing as delivered and as returned to the National Park Service, US Department of the Interior.
3.Since we kept one copy of all of the "transfers" of this collection here at Meriden Road, never before heard by the public music (these recordings were not only one-of-a-kind, but had not been heard since 1929 by an Edison review committee) (except for myself and my associate) - - - we will make available all of these recordings of all of the following and the entire collection for all to hear including - Tommy Dorsey before he became popular; same with Glenn Miller and many others from the "big band era"; never released California Ramblers tunes; McGuire Sisters tunes never heard before, etc, etc. etc. Yup, this stuff happened here over a period of 7 years and was done on a pro bono basis here in RT. You did not know that, did you?
4. A derivitive of the software that was developed here on Meriden Rd to clean up these recordings is now being used by the US Marines in what is called "Real Time Intelligence Gathering" situations wherein noisey cell phone reception is cleaned up in real time in order to make tough decisions, and - - - recorded to hard disc (CYA reasons) before planting smart bombs up the asses of the insurgents there. Interesting because it is a derivitive work of Edisons original recording archive - - - the guy that invented recorded sound. Had we not been exposed to the Edison project, we would not have developed this sophisticated software that is being used world-wide by the various intelligence communities.
5. Do you think that the DR will pick up on this most important element of RT's history? (U know that Rob and company moniters this site.)
6. I think not. Tell me, - - - should I run a poll on this one to see if the DR will pick up on it, or is it obvious what the results will be?
If it does not involve the controversy over the proposed RT circus, it will not make the paper. RT = CC Megachurch. Everything else is irrelevent.
