I have been out of town for a week, enjoyed the Florida sun and now am home awaiting the next snow storm- UFF DA send me back to Florida!
I hope you are all planning on attending the town council meeting on Tuesday night. I will be there as will many others! The meeting starts at 8pm, I would suggest you get there by 7:45 if you want to get a seat.
The Star Ledger had an article today about the meeting and the possible action of the applicant. Again Paula Saha wrote a did a nice job on the article.
See you all Tuesday Night!

The Christ Church Plan for the redevelopment of 140 Green Pond Rd is just too big for the area.
For those of you that dont subscribe to the Ledger, you can read the article online from the link at the VORT website. http://www.voicesofrockawaytwp.org .
Isnt it interesting that Christ Church wanted to repeat their threat of lawsuit in the media two days before the council meeting. Do they really think that their threats will cause the town to back down on ordinances they know are necessary for the protection of our community? Yep, I really want to welcome a group like that into my town. One that threatens, litigates, coerces, and lies their way in. Thats my idea of good neighbors.
The article says "the courts have ruled if conditional uses such as churches, schools and municipal buildings are not specifically defined, they are essentially nonpermitted uses. Rockaway Township's current laws do not define those uses, he said, and the new ordinance corrects that" If I understand this correctly since RT does not define those conditional uses then they are nonpermitted, a church, school etc cannot use them. So why is the church threatening to sue? They won't be permitted with the old law or am I decifering this legal jumble incorrectly?

No problem! I am sure that Ireland has already forgiven himself for all of those little indiscretions.
