Hey, anybody understand what the guy in the Daily Record was saying, that "it's better to pay [taxes] toward a church than toward more stores and restaurants"?
I believe that the letter writer is a bit confused.
Stores and restaurants pay taxes to the town and also provide a service to many township residents. They support us, not the other way around.
140 GPR is zoned OBRL. There will be no stores or restaurants on that site ever (unless the applicant is somehow approved and then under RLUIPA forces us to allow them to open up a tax-free McDonalds or something similar).
The planning board can not address the issue of our school taxes. Sorry. If you have issues with the school taxes, please take them to the Board of Education.
It's great that Rockaway Township helped Mr. Del Greco fill out the applications he needed to bring in sewer lines / build a home and told him when the township needed more information. However, does Captain Del Greco think that our planning board should hire an architect to design the applicant's building, since the applicant hasn't been able to provide a complete plan in a timely fashion? FYI Mr. Del Greco, our planning board has told the applicant NUMEROUS TIMES that they require more information. It is the applicant who has been unable to furnish this information.
FYI Garry - nobody wants to stop a church from joining our community. The vast majority of Rockaway Township residents however feel that the current applicant's proposal is way out of line with what GPR and the environment can handle.

Why doty is even allowed to submitt anything to any newspaper is beyond imagination...he was busted already for writing letters in a bogus name - that should cause any paper with a shred of credibility to shun this idiot like the plauge.
Did you write a responce to this clueless letter to the editor? I was unaware that anyone could be so out of touch as to think that tax dollars pay for stores or resturants. I was also unaware that the "planning board" actually did your planning for you (LOL). Every other applicant comes prepared with documents and answers questions in a timely manner. We are still waiting on answers from questions to Ireland in the first meetings.
Get ready for the adventure that is about to begin here in RT! News 12 is back on the story as are other news agencys.
Good night all! Lisa

The Christ Church Plan for the redevelopment of 140 Green Pond Rd is just too big for the area.
Lisa, I know I speak for all of us, but again I have to say, thank you so much--Salbergs and Jenkinses AND your (probably neglected!) families, for giving (probably all of) your spare time to pursue this.
Were it not for you, I might still be getting home from work because the liturgical dancers rehearse on Wednesdays!
LOL! - - - btw - - - just exactly what the hell is a liturgical dancer??? Do they dance around the liturgy? Do they use a pole or a staff? Are they like belly dancers? If so, maybe I should join the church for the show or convince my HOW that we must have em. Kewl!
