I rememeber some PR stories in the winter or spring saying they would start services in late August - have they even begun construction on the modified plan? What about those people that come in every day asking when they will open?
How much of the 107 acre GPR site is actually useable net of the wetlands portion and the 300 foot buffer zones? Perhaps its not much more than 15 acres or so. Does anyone know or is it just my wishful thinking?
Not sure how much land is buildable on that parcel. Another way to look at it is to convert the pervious coverage from their latest plan from square feet to square acres. Parking is the key factor
Well, here is one way to look at it (since I used to work there when it was HP):
I vaguely recall that the total square footage of the existing structures was around 285,000. That was divided amongst three buildings (the original 1 story building plus two newer additions having 2 stories). I would estimate that 1/2 of the total square footage was comprised of 2 story structures.
So, with 44,000 square feet in an acre (I think that is the number, but am too lazy to look it up right now), that produces (very roughly) the following footprint with the existing structure:
(285,000 / 2) / 44,000 = 3.25 acres. As I recall, liarland wants to build 325,00 square feet, but I do not recall the number of stories that would comprise his monstrosity.
But, based on the existing structure, I guess that it could be possible to construct a megachurch on 15 acres if all of that land was available for construction and parking. One could build a Megachurch having the same footprint as HP and still have 8.75 acres left over for parking, etc.
We can only hope and pray that it is lierland and company who have expressed interest.
