To the decent Lake Telemarkers

All I was trying to do when I post was to have this community see the problems that exist here. And they are getting worse.
My 7 month old screamed all weekend because of the fireworks that some think is their culture. Everytime I got that poor baby to bed one of those LOUD Booms would go off and she'd start crying. And my pets are afraid to go out and I have to force them to go outside so they can do their business. But these illegal fireworks are really worth what you are putting the community through. I know it's just not my household that's been upset by these hours of blasting.
I, for the life of me, can't see any reason that fireworks are important in one's life. If you want loud noise, blast your Ipod in your own ears. The ones that the lake puts on are pretty and all, but they are damaging the environment and wildlife. These are two things that I thought were important to this community. At least that's what they say they are fighting for. I guess they are just hypocrites.
Sorry for trying to put some decency in this community. I guess illegal acts are important here. You sure are teaching your kids well.

Do you really think anyone believes your lies you poor lonely little troll?

Once more, your attempt at a social experiment has failed, why not go back to the nj dot com web forum and stir up some more trouble there as here it will just continue to fail.

I dont know who Wild is nor do I care. I will have to give him one thing though. Lk. Telemark has been getting increasingly worse each year with regards to illegal fireworks. I have the same problem with my dog. She cowers in the corner shaking as it sounds like WW3 around here. The only thing I will say is that they seemed to knock it off at a fairly reasonable hour this year. In past years it was not unusual to be knocked out of bed at 3 or 4am with another loud band. I was home all weekend and didnt see a single RTPD patrol the entire time. Years ago, there were additional patrols put on just for curbing the use of illegal fireworks and a no nonsense, zero tolerance approach was taken (I know that from personal involvement) but apparently the current administration has other priorities. As long as its limited to that one weekend, I can tolerate it, but unfortunately it often extends for weeks on end.

Late at night I'd have a problem; a reasonable hour, I have no objection whatsoever...

We hear it and the dogs go on alert, but other than that (and the aforementioned cozy sensation) it doesn't bother us.

We have parties from time to time and have been known to indulge ourselves, so who are we to judge...

There have been enough drunk and inconsiderate morons around to keep the long time tradition of the 2 month long fireworks celebration around the lake. I have no problem on or close to the 4th, but some of these morons blast them off at late and rude hours and on days other than weekends. Babies and pets be damned.

So far as trolls go, you would have to expect some in a Norwegian community, or in a community named after a place in Norway. Trolls are part of the folklore and do serve important functions. A) they make cute garden statues. B) they make the rest of us glad we are not them. C) They attract flies and thereby help to keep the flies away from the rest of us. D) They make us feel smarter. E) they provide comic relief.
