I was chatting w/ Craig tonight after he had read the Neighbor News article about the pb meeting on the 20th. In that meeting, it would seem that cc brought up the two oil tanks that Agilent uses to fire the boilers to heat their buildings. The impression that cc leaves about these tanks is erroneous according to Maier. Here are the facts about them if ya wanna believe Maier:
1. They are contained in two seperate steel re-inforced concrete burial vaults. They are not directly burried in the ground.
2. They are located above the berm.
3. The steel tanks are of double wall construction besides the concrete vaults.
4. The vaults have enough space that persons can go down into same and inspect them. There is plenty of room down in these to walk around sort of like a set of basements. It sounds from Maiers description like they are sort of like basement cellars with access at the top. That is not unlike most homes with oil tanks in their basement.
5. The vaults have electronic monitoring systems which are checking for leaks on a continious basis so that even if the steel tanks faulted, the oil would be contained in the concrete vault, but the monitors would dial up someone to let them know of the situation.
Lastly, these tanks are less underground than ire-lands proposed parking garages. I think that cc is just using this as a faux example of how they are going to improve the environmental condition of the property. Well folks, it looks like this is just more ireland bull**** effervescing forth.
Has anyone other than myself noticed that everything that the cc business brings up lacks the fundamental of truth that most of us are used to dealing with?
more ammo for our lawers when mR iNTEGRITY takes us to court...unless of course the DEP is taken to task on that shaky "exemption"...then CC is left with only the DEP to sue, good luck with that rEV...!!!
