A Quote from todays Daily Record

Here is a quote from todays Daily Record:

"The New Jersey Sierra Club passed a resolution on Oct. 9 calling on the DEP to overturn its decision granting an exemption to the church, whose proposal awaits a 10th hearing in December before the Rockaway Township Planning Board.

Phalon said on Friday that the DEP had no plans to reverse its decision."

Better find a new angle, folks.

A spokesperson is not who will make the decision as to what happens to this matter.   There is a great deal to be done with the DEP - we have only just begun to deal with this matter in regards to the Highlands.

Are you under the impression that the "exemption" issues leave CC  exempt from ALL DEP regulations?  If so you are very wrong.  There is a list of regulations and laws a page long that CC has to comply with that are NOT part of the Highlands.   The DEP will have to uphold the law on all fronts... and if they have made an error in how they issues this exemption they will have to tend to that error.

Lisa,

If that is your stratedgy, you are in trouble with this applicant.  He shall overcome all objections in one way or the other and / or play the church and  / or race card.  He shall overcome.  It is only a matter of time before Mr. Ireland will be running this town.  But, its your funeral.  Good luck with your poor stratedgy folks!  Or take my advice:

Condem the Property Now Before It's Too Late!

Maybe you should take your poor attitude and turn it around and support the effort us, and other residents of RT are making, rather than attempting to protmote disruption and anquish for those who read your posts.  You can express your feelings,  but at least we trying to save the environment, keep our small roadways from becoming over crowded with vehicles, etc.

I agree with Kim.  It appears that Craig aka Rational (yes I remember your email address when you created the screen name) seems to have nothing but complaining to do here.  Voices of Rockaway are working with experts in land use, the environement and engineering to get to the bottom of this issue and stop this project... what does he offer?  Comments that are outright foolish... I thought you were moving?

What have you done to help the situation?  Your comments have been food for the media and have accomplished nothing but to make you look foolish.

while we may agree that the project is a BAD idea...that is the end of what I think we agree upon.

...and, for the love of God, if you're going to repeat your mantra over and over, at least get it right:

It's spelled "condemn".

Folks,

I do not support you because your approach is naive, childish and so far, completely inefective.  None of you in VORT have any street smarts whatsoever; you come across to me as innocent as a bunch of little puppy dogs.   I am in the process of solving this most serious of problems by myself.  Luckily, there are still beautiful areas of NJ that are not plagued with your problem and hopefully have the competitence to deal with tough civic/political affairs.  So, I don't really care what you folks decide to do. I view it all from the sidelines and am humoured by the whole fiasco. However, just as a last suggestion, the first thing would be to come to grips with the biggest source of polution that you will be dealing with.  It is that source of pollution that is forcing me to move and the towns inability to confront it or do anything about it.

That pollution consists of 5 to 20 thousand people descending into this town every Sunday and is reason enough to condemN the property.  But no, not RT.  That might cost each of our families about three thousand bucks.  G-d forbid - - - (but - - - that's my holiday money- you say!).  You folks would rather play games with this man for the next five years in planning board meetings chatting about sewerage and so forth.  And you are doing nothing which will stop this guy (who is street smart) with your corny little games about the definition of Megachurch, Gigachurch, the water supply and all sort of other irrelevent polution stuff which will never ultimately apply to minority owned churches..  Enjoy your new Urban community folks.

ps - I find it pretty humereous that your new Christian Church does not even hold Christmas services!  Pretty funny.  I guess that guys birthday is not worth celebrating, however, I'd bet that they celebrate Irelands birthday.  And, btw - I am not Craig. Craig and his wife gave up on you guys a long time ago.  However, I do reside with him and his wife.  Do you want to guess again as to who I am?

 Craigs alter ego?

Seriously Jr., Your whole point about the courts not wanting to go against a minority church/business, was probably more relavent in the 80s or 90s. The courts are tired of "people in affected classes" claiming discrimination when things don't go their way. It's almost 2005 and the rules have changed.

Craig - please don't play games.  Of course you are Craig.  When this board forced registration with a valid email, everyone had to re-register.  When you first re-registered, you left your dctools@aol.com email address visible, and yes, some of us (more than one), caught that fact.  When people said you were Craig, you made it invisible.  Your emotional statements have done as much to hurt RT as anyone's statements, even tED's.  The negative press that was generated months ago was a blow to all of Rockaway.  The worst part about it all was that you were correct in your arguments with "Matthew" - he WAS a bigot, but your comments were very similar to those of former NY Mayor Ed Kock - you spoke/wrote without thinking of the consequences of your comments - consequences for yourself AND for the rest of us.

If you are moving, as you have told us all 100 times, then good luck wherever you go.  You have appeared here as one who does nothing but whine about the efforts of others, and frankly, I believe most people - VORT supporters included, are tired of it.

As I have said, I am not Craig.  Yes, I live with Craig and his wife and share their computer account.  I also share their convictions about VORT and the township ineptitude.  But, believe what you may, I am not him.

That aside, I do not care what you folks think.  You have shown yourselves to be naive and incompetitent especially if you think that your stratedgy is going to work.  I know that the truth really hurts, but if you go back and look at "Raionals" posts, you shall see that all of my prognisticaions have come true.  That is just too bad.  I really do not care what happens; as a matter of fact the more that I hear this kind of stuff from other people who live in this town the more that I am beginning to feel that this township may be getting exactly what it is due.  Enjoy your new environment, folks.  It certainly will be diverse.

BTW - On VORT - Never mistake activity and good intentions with practical solutions and progress.  I have yet to hear one single person explain why my $3,000.00 solution is not on the table and seriously being considered by this township.  It is the best idea that has come forth thus far.  If it is not, why does someone not refute it right here? The rest of the towns activity has been resulted in increased jeopardy and the creation of a lot of hot air.  It has been postivie for only one set of folks:  The lawyers.

In the meantime, it is all very entertaining to all of us here!
